Did i just faint?

Answers:
You may well need to go to the hospital, but lets rule out some causes first.
One, have you faited in the resent past? If so, that shows a pattern and you at least should have someone drive you to URGENT care at the clinic you go to if they have one. If you have a doctor, call their office, they all have a service that will either connect you to the an call doctor or the service will call your doctor and have them call you.
Are you starving at this time; or severly restricting calories? If you are eating less then 800 calories a day, you could have passed out due to low caloric intake. Starving may seem to many a cool way to deal with problem or to lose weight, but it can destroy the heart, kidneys and in time every organ of the body. When you starve, the body in time feeds upon itself and often destroys muscles, instead of fat.
Next take your temp. Make sure your body tempt isn't too high due to the heat. Many people who are over heated, get to a point where they don't even realize how hot they have become.
Check your skin to see if you are dehydrated by doing the following. You use one hand to pinch the skin together on the top of the other hand. Hold it to the count of three, then release. Did your skin quickly return to normal, or did it stay kind of pinched up? If it returned to normal, you are not dehydrated, if it stayed pinched up, you are dehydrated. Do not just drink and drink. Go get a cold glass of water, about twenty ounces, that's like a coke bottle you get out of a machine. Drink water! Drink it slowly and sit with your feet up, as your blood pressure may have bottomed out. After you are done drinking it slowly, check your skin again. If it's stays pinched up still, you are dehydrated enough you need to have someone take you to the hospital; do not drive as you are likely to pass out again.
If you're not dehydrated and you do not have a temperature you can rule out those two things now and move on.
Could you be pregnant? If yes, have someone run and get a pregnancy test, not you. Fainting during preganancy often occurs becuase a woman doens't eat several small meals to keep her glucose, blood sugar, levels balanced. A sudden drop in glucose can lead to what you described as how you faited. IF you are pregnant, try eating healthy snacks of about 200 calories between meals. Nuts are a great snack, good for the baby and because they have both a complex carb and protein they help keep the glucose levels balanced.
If you are restricking calories, that well could be why you passed out. Starvation never is good, NEVER. A diet with less then 800 calories is considered an anorexic level eating. If you are a teen or young adult, you need even while dieting never to go below 1000 calories per day, unless you are working with a doctor who will monitor you and a diatecian to make sure you are getting what your body needs.
If you pass out again for any reason, you need to get into URGENT care if your doctors office has an Urgent care or go to the ER. Go to an Urgent if you can, if not go to the ER.
Write down all the symptoms you had in the past twenty-four hours. Such as did you have blurry visit before you stood up then blacked out or fainted. How long do you think you were out for; that is important for a doctor to know. A minute, five minutes. It will make a big different in guiding them what might be the cause. Have you had any severe headaches in the last week; did you today? Have you recently had the flu? If you are a teen or young adult, one that can apply to you, especially if you live on a college campus, is if you have been having severe headaches, and didn't in the past, have you been around anyone recently dignosed with menegitis?
Be honest with the doctor about how much or how little you are eating. Were you shaking and sweety just before you passed out? If so, that can be a definate sign of low blood sugar, low glucose.
If you were out for more then a minute or two you need to go to the hospital. WHY? You might have had a seizure and that would explain why you don't recall hitting your mouth. One way to know if you possibly had a seizure is this. When you woke up, were you disoriented for a while? Or were you able to know exactly what had happened to you soon as you woke up? Most people who have had a seizure, feel disoriented upon coming out of the seizure.
If this happens to you again, go to a doctor if you have one already; urgent care or the ER. Passing out can be a sign of many things; some simple to resolve, others may be a sign of on going illness.
Yes you just fainted and you need to go to the hospital in case you hit your head and have a concussion. Don't drive though get someone to drive you there.
