Low income Nursing homes in Miami?

Question:
I'm the daughter of an 80 year old man, and I'm trying to convince my mother to put my father into a nursing home. My mom is only 50 and works full time but she doesn't have the time or the money to properly take care of my father. Their income is very low ( around 20,000 a year), and I'm looking for information about nursing homes for him. I haven't found anything useful on the internet, so I was wondering if someone going through the same situation could help me find out more information.

Answers:
have your mother start the process of applying for Medicaid for your father. Any nursing home will accept him as a resident as long as he has Medicare/Medicaid. I believe she will need to contact Dept. of Children & Families for Medicaid... can also check online to see if can do on-line application. As long as he has some type of payer source, he will be accepted into a nursing home. She still may have a small out-of-pocket expense. Medicaid will also pay for medications and a monthly doctor visit. Good luck to you!!
