5 year old and headaches?
Question:
Answers:
I started getting migraines when I was 4 years old. Migraines are definitely hereditary, and it's very possible that your daughter is experiencing them. Start recording everytime that she gets a migraine, her symptoms, diet for the day, and sleep the night before. This will help the pediatrician to make a diagnosis.
Sometimes migraines can coexist with other illnesses such as the flu or a bad cold - this may explain the fever? Or, a fever can occur with a migraine if you get dehydrated. If she is vomiting with the headache and can't keep down fluids, this can be dangerous and requires immediate medical attention. Good luck to the both of you!
i would request a cat scan just to be on the safe side
has she had her eyes tested recently if eye sights find just visit your gp
that sounds quite serious.. ur doing the right thing by bringing her to the doctor! maybe even ask for a cat scan just to be safe and rule out those niggling worries in your own head!
that wont do u any good, and u dont need to have a headache come on over this, u need to be at your best for your daughter..
I hope everything works out :)
they are probalbly just a part of growing pains.
See youe doctor just in case.
Migraines are hereditary. I have learned. So it is a good thing you are seeing your doctor.
I am truly sorry to hear that! I hope your daughter feels better. I have a 5 year old son..and he has had headaches but I think they were minor. I always made sure my son was hydrated! That is very important. Please keep us posted!
Migraines are hereditary but uncommon in a 5 year old. However, fever can exacerbate a headache in a 5 year old as well as many bacterial/viral infections which cause headaches as part of the illness
The doctor may shed light on this family history of headaches-
if you dont get satisfactory diagnosis or treatment,it may be a good idea to consult the hospital below, who may give alternative answers and treatment options
I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and it is very possible for a 5 year old to get them I used to get them at that age. If she a fever then she is probably suffering from an infection. If her vision isn't impaired or she isn't constantly sick or it hurts to move her head back or has a rash (purple with a pink centre) then I wouldn't worry to much. Try an ice pack at the base of the skull, and try to bring down the temp this is the cause of the headache. the body heats up in order to kill the invader but it doesn't always work that way.

you need to start keeping a head ache diary it is going to be very hard for a doctor to diagnose since 5 is hard to get information. You need to note all secondary symptoms runny nose, photophobia, do they want to pace or lie still. It doesnt sound like a cluster H/A possmigrain but more likely a bug that goes with her fever. Its unusual but kids this young can get CH and migraines.
check with the GP
