Why is heroin highly addictive?

Question:
I've heard somewhere that it's more addictive than other drugs out there. Apparently, one use of it is enough to get you hooked. I have also learned that more and more teens today are getting addicted to this. I want to know what's in heroin that can cause a lot of people to become dependent upon it.

Answers:
Heroin is a powerful drug processed from morphine. It happens to be highly addictive because it penetrates the blood-brain barrier rapidly and it affects the parts of the brain which are responsible for producing physical dependence. It causes an instant rush of euphoria, depending on the method that was used for its intake. This drug affects the way one thinks, how one acts, as well as decision-making capabilities and memory functioning.
