Who else is disturbed by all of these young teenagers asking about their weight when they are just fine?
Question:
How can they just understand that this shouldn't be such an obsession??!??!??
Answers:
I thought America was finished with the anorexic skeletons as "role models", but maybe I was wrong. Even after all media coverage on the dangers and health risks of this obsession it amazes me that anyone would still want to become a living skeleton. Where ARE the parents? Where are the peers? I've never found a starving female attractive (especially when the starvation is self-inflicted); I can't imagine teenage boys feeling any different. Unfortunately, I seem to be in the minority when it comes to the lipo-sucked, siliconed, botoxed Barbie doll; that's not attractive to me, either. Perhaps I'm on the wrong track; maybe these girls figure on being multimillionaire super models if they can just lose "ten more pounds" and their attractiveness (or lack thereof) is not important. The media created this obsession with physical perfection, and, unfortunately, some people have distorted what is "perfection" and a lot of kids (not just girls) are paying dearly for their obsession.
lol! I thought this was Health and Fitness section! Not teens calorie obsession! Amazing! These kids now a days are focused on this crap! I'm 24, but when I was 12-16, I was NOT focused on calories, eating, losing weight etc. I was eating whatever my mom cooked and whatever I could! I was also active so it never occured to me to watch my weight. It quite sick if you ask me! They all need serious help! Where are their mothers??
It is painful to see the degree of obsession with weight. There is so much more to life, to compassion, to living a complete life. I agree completely.
yeah, I agree 100%. I also think a lot has to do with how the media portrays and define how a young girl should look etc...just look thru those teen magazines...
