Can migraines cause brain damage?
Question:

Likely it's the other way around, that some anomaly in your brain caused the migraines. If you're having problems, you should have your doctor check you out. Probably he'll refer you to a neurologist to see what's going on.
I really don't think migraines can cause brain damage - it can take a lot more than a migraine to do that. I have had migraines since I was 8, and at times have gone through 3/4 migraines a month, and really severe ones where they have kept me in bed for 3 days at a time. I went through a bad time months ago when I thought the same as you, but realised it was all down to stress and tiredness. I now take plenty of exercise and drink at least 1.5 - 2 litres of water a day and feel great. I'm sure if you went on a 'get healthy and fit' regime, you would feel differently. Taking vitamin B capsules help your brain and nervous system.
I have had migraine headaches since I was seven years old. Going through absolute hell on many occasions. As I have grown older they have decreased and I now know how to control them in a way. Have never taken any medication as I have found that nothing really worked.
Cannot see how you could have become brain damaged by them as they are caused by contractions of the blood vessels and the brain is not affected.
Try to avoid stress as much as possible as I feel sure that this is the main trigger for migraine. Not easy I know but they do decrease as you get older.
it could be stress related.
