How do you handle being on your feet for 12 hour shifts?

Question:
Ah yes the joys of working those long 12 hour continental shifts! How do you cope?

Answers:
I am an Emergency Room nurse and all I do are 12 -13 hour shifts. You NEED a great pair of shoes/sneakers with great arch and heel support and socks that stay put, not twist around on your feet. I have to replace the arch supports every 2 months but that keeps my feet and back happy!
1 hour at a time
sit down on breaks, good shoes help and after a few weeks doesnt bother me but are so happy to get off my feet at end os shift
