Do lemons help clear mucus?

Question:
ok, for a while now, i've ahd a problem where there's, i guess and excessa mount of mucus in my throat... like, i don't have to cough all the time or anything like that, but i have to swallow to clear my throat a lot, because i never really knew how to "hock a lougie"...

anyway, i was wondering if sucking on a lemon would help clear out some of the mucus, or break it down so that it's easier for me to cough it up?

Answers:
Yes, lemon is good. Avoid dairy foods.
no lemons dont help clear mucus but organs do
and pickels do
The short answer to your question is "yes"...
And, avoiding milk, yogurt and cheese or products with these in them, will help reduce phlem, since these are all mucus "inducing" foods...you may have noticed an increase in phlem with the addition of more dairy products to your diet..
Happened to me when I started eating a lot of yogurt and cottage cheese...
the acid in a lemon will actually make it worse over time. I have the same problem and actually gargle warm saltwater in the morning and it has definately helped me. Try 2 tablespoons per cup and stir until dissolved then gargle and spit.
lemons might make you cough more. altho its a good source of Vit . C .
Go ask your doctor for a decongestion pill. !
Yes it does but technically it is not a common cure.
