Is it true that taking little naps during the evening after work is bad for you?

Question:
Every once in a while when I get home from work, I collapse on the couch and eventually doze off for a little while. Who doesn't right? Well, my boyfriend (whom I live with) is under the impression that these little naps are actually bad for you. Is this true?

Answers:
You're still sleeping fine at night so no problem. I have heard that little naps- even 5-10 minutes is good. It refreshes you. If your night's sleep would be disturbed- I'd try to reduce the nap to 20-30 mins. Naps are best for you in the mid-afternoon. It would be nice if our culture adopted the idea of a siesta!
Do they prevent you from falling asleep later at night? Otherwise I don't see the harm.

I fall asleep after school also for about an hour and a half. It gives me energy to do my homework!
Not bad for you. Fresheners is what they are. His prejudice is based on something that has no medical documentation, such as what his grandma said. Take naps when you need them
he is wrong its actually good for you as long if its not after 16:00 and for your bf he should understand that you work really hard and you need to rest :)
i saw on Oprah where taking cat naps are really good for u and you're supposed to take them
