I have (had?) 20/25 vision but I see halo's at night?

Question:
I always have. I thought it was normal until recently. Should I see an optomotrist or just shrug it off? Could my eyes be going bad or is it not a big deal? I know yall aren't dr's, but I thought I'd ask.

Answers:
You really need to see an optometrist or a doctor as soon as you can. Seeing halos especially at night can be a sign of glaucoma, especially if it is associated with pain or other visual disturbances. Glaucoma can be very serious, and whithout treatment can cause loss of sight.

The symptoms of acute glaucoma include the following:
* painful, red eye;
* eyeball that is hard and sore to the touch;
* enlarged pupil that is oval in shape;
* vision is misty, and you may see halos around sources of light.

There is every possibility it could turn out to be nothing to worry about, but even if you don't have any other symptoms it's worth getting it checked just to be safe.
Sounds like you have an astigmatism. I would see an eye doctor if I were you.
Go to the optometrist and have your eyes checked. Seeing halos is not normal. Can't advise as to what the problem is.
