Why am I taking vit B12 shots?
Question:
Answers:
Your doctor suspects that you have pernicious anemia, which is a deficiency of Vitamin B12, caused by the body's inability to absorb dietary B12. It can be detected by looking at your red and white blood cells and seeing certain changes in them. B12 is a substance that is essential for the proper development of your blood cells and many other processes in the body. The symptoms of B12 deficiency don't show up for awhile. Unfortunately, when they do appear, the damage is permanent. B12 deficiency affects the central nervous system.
Normally, your stomach produces a substance called intrinsic factor, which allows the stomach to absorb dietary B12 (extrinsic factor). However, as people age, they may stop producing intrinsic factor or not produce enough of it, which means they can't absorb the B12 they need. In this case, the only way to get the B12 into your bloodstream is to take injections.

Without knowing the background we can't possibly give a decent answer. You'll have to ask your doctor I'm afraid.
Can you still chew fruits and vegetables and are they available to you? Apparently you don't like to eat food that is good for you? I would tell that doctor to take his shots and put them where the sun don't shine. Stop eating so much sugar and easy carbs and start getting more fiber in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables. If it takes too much effort to prepare them and work too, give up work!
