No, of course it isn't. The less you smoke, the better, the more you smoke, the worse. However, there are other particulates you inhale just being exposed to all the other pollutants out there. It may not be cigarettes that cause any lung disease you might get. It may not even be lung disease. There's kidneys, heart, brain, liver, pancreas, prostate, colon, or just plain, boink, you're dead, no reason, no explanation. Kind of like Y!A terminating your account.
no but cigarette smoke lingers as residue on furniturre, clothing and other personal articles.
reasearchers think the radiation from the smoke, yes smoke contains radiactive material may be what causes mouth cancer instead of tar and nicotine.
i would even stay away from occasional smoking.
Health effects from smoking are generally dose-related, so that 1-2 cigarettes a month are not as bad as 1-2 packs a day. Your level of smoking, at the current level, is minimally harmful.
However, smoking is addictive and you run a risk of becoming addicted and getting to 1-2 packs a day if you continue. It's best not to smoke at all.
Also, let's say that you do develop lung cancer down the road. You're going to feel pretty foolish for smoking at all.
smoking makes you poo on small children
It's still gambling with your health. You COULD end up being one of those folks who gets sick with one or more upper respiratory dseases really easily. Give 'em up now and save yourself the pain and suffering that comes with not being able to breath good. BTW, I've been smoking for nearly 20 years---a pack a day, usually---and have just been diagnosed with C.O.P.D. and Chronic Bronchitis. Emphysema is next.. It's not definate. My Dr tells me to quit smoking NOW and my body will TRY to start the healing process. My advise is to leave that pack a year alone and get some good chewing gum instead. Or even lollipops.(smile). Good luck, Brenda
No. As others have said, an occasional cigarette will likely do no damage, as long as you keep it at that.
You inhale all sorts of crap every day. Diesel exhaust, second-hand smoke, pollen, soot, sulfur and nitrogen oxides, etc. 20 cigarettes a year are a drop in the bucket.
