After Deviated Septum surgury can you shower?

Question:
I have my deviated septum corrected yesterday, and was wondering if i can take a shower and wash my nose? do i have to be careful? can i blow my nose? any comments/suggestions for speedy recovery or cleanup?

Answers:
Very strange that your doctors surgery/hospital didn't provide instructions. I would call them to enquire as to wether this was an oversight. If there are no precautions to observe, maybe simple common sense i.e. sure have a shower, you can only feel better, and the steam breathed in could soften the nasal passages making the area more comfortable and clearer, but I wouldn't be soaping it up, or poking about up there. A morning in the country deep breathing warm sunny air would be not only healing, but how much more enjoyable now that you can breath!
