Why won't my eye sty go away?

Question:
a few months ago i had a terrible inflamed sty. recently it came back again. the inflammation or the swollen part of it is gone but there is still a pimple-like lump just sitting there on my eyelid. why isnt gone yet? does it still need time to burst? i hope it doesnt it any bigger. its not painful but its annoying.

Answers:
It could be a chalazion, which is not a stye, but could be mistaken for one.

Once you get a stye, you're more prone to them. You probably just have to wait it out. Warm compresses, warm baths can help. My mom gets rid of hers by having this Portuguese lady she is friends with bless it with her engagement ring. (weird, but it always works, I think the friend just has a really good sense for when a stye is "ready")
Don't squeeze it, and if it doesn't get better or pop soon enough for you, the doctor should be able to lance it for you, which shouldn't hurt much.
Apply a clean, warm compress to it and that'll help it go down quicker.
sounds like a shalazone..talk to your doctor sometimes they have to bust it
Try putting a wet teabag on your eye from time to time. It'll help with swelling /pain. Yes, it still has to burst, but on it's own. Once it bursts, it'll start going away.
A Sty is very infectious. So much so, that it could have "lingered" on some item, some surface you haven't touched in a while. At least, that's the way I understood the reading. This means washing everything you have put on during the infection, sheets included. I know you hear this all the time "keep your fingers out of your eyes" but really, with "sty's", you have to go above and beyond normal precautions.......
Ok, what I'm about to tell you may sound gross and ridiculus but hear me out.

I developed a sty last year around March. Supposedly they go away with time so I didn't pay it much mind. A month passed and the annoying blemish still pestered my eye. I went to the doctor and he gave me this cream to put on it twice a day. A week passed, nothing.

My uncle told me that when he was young, an old relative of ours had told him to apply the first morning's saliva to it everyday. Right when you wake up, before you brush your teeth, before you do ANYTHING, lick your finger and apply the saliva to the sty.

My first reaction was uproarious laughter. That was the most ridiculus thing I had ever heard. How can bacteria-infested saliva cure a sty? Surely he was mistaken.

Weeks passed, months passed, the cream did nothing. I went back to the doctor and he said it didn't look infected or anything, so to just wait it out and keep with the cream. By September I was at the end of my rope. Nothing had worked and the sty persisted. My uncle told again to do the saliva thing. There was nothing else to try, so what the hell.

THE THING DISSAPEARED IN A WEEK. No joke. I couldn't believe it. He laughed and did the whole "I told you so" number, but I was still incredulous. Now I'm not saying that this is guaranteed to work for you, but trust me, it worked for me like magic.
The saliva on the sty things works! My mom told me to do the same thing when I got one and it also works on pimples! I think it works because saliva contains cells that kill bacteria and germs.
