What's the cause of snoring?

Question:
my cousin said that sleeping with your mouth open causes snoring. Is that true?

Answers:
Many things can be attributed to snoring. Being over weight, if you have enlarged tonsils or adenoids, sines problems, sleeping with your mouth open, air in your home being too dry or too moist..the list goes on and on. Somethings can be fixed quickly and easily some can't.
It is more likely sleep apnea. Sometimes the soft palate closes the throat off temporarliy and causes that snorting noise we associate with snoring.
