What to expect when visiting a psychiatrist?
Question:
Answers:
Don't expect him / her to do a lot of talking. They want you to do the talking. They are trying to help you help yourself. Therefore, don't expect the shrink to solve any of your problems. Basically, they want you to learn how to cope with whatever it is your dealing with.
Also, remember that as long as you are at least 14 years old, the shrink cannot talk to your dad about what you talked to them about. I hope this turns out well for you, however if it does not work for you, be sure to let dad and the shrink know.
Expect a lot of questions from them and answer them honestly. They are not allowed to share what you say with anyone at all for any reason unless it is by court order. It is between you and the psychiatrist only. They will tell you this. Try to be as open and as informative as possible to them. This is what they are there for. It will mostly be questions and they may even state their opinion on some subjects. They will just talk to you.
alot of questions and if you answer them with i dunno they will force it out of you! be afraid be very afraid!
