Am I experiencing menopause?? I'm only 18!?
Question:
I haven't had my period for 9 months. I'm not pregnant, haven't had any sexual relations that could possibly relate to it, and my hair has been falling out for the past 7 months.
January- May 2006 I weighed 140 lbs. I was prescribed Seroquel and afterwards I gained 70 pounds between the months of May- December 2006.
Since January 2007, I've gained another 25 pounds.
One of my breasts is larger than the other, and though they used to be only slightly the same size.. now it's more noticeable.
I don't know what's the matter.. why my health is deteriorating so much when I haven't changed my lifestyle that much at all.
I'm wondering if anybody out there has any clue on what's going on.

There is a condition I believe is called perimenopause, its like menopause but in young women, But you really, really should go to your docter, if his/her answers dont suffice you should go to another docter, hope you feel better.
There is nothing to worry about, no you are not going through menopause because you are way to young for that! I believe its stress, yes you might be having everything work out, but the problems you have with your health, and worries about it may be causing it. Stress less and take a day off. And what are you so depressed about? You are only 18!! You have a whole LIFE ahead of you!
Wow...I have never heard of anything like this in my life. These medications that you have been taking are pretty serious drugs. Some meds can interfere with body development and may actually cause the period to stop. You'd have to be a pretty extreme case for this to happen. I'm NOT a doctor, but go talk to your physician about these issues and see if your RX can be changed. It may simply be your body having an adverse reaction to long term medication use. You are not showing signs of menopause at all. It could be anything from stress to the meds. Definitely something you need to see doc about. Good luck, sweetheart.
This sounds exactly like PCOS, or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Symptoms are weight gain, hair falling out, acne, excess body hair, and lack of periods. You might not have all the symptoms, but could have this. Go to the gynocologist and they will check your hormone levels and check for cysts on your ovaries. They can give you drugs to help with all of this. Going on birth control often helps as well. Good luck, sweetie.
go see ur doctor..like rite now...run...out the dooor...gooo
