A fever of 104?
Question:
The fever hasnt gone down at all. I keep calling them and they keep saying give it time. She is complaining of a sore throat. They are saying it is from her tonsilectomy she had on the 10th of July. The ENT at the hospital *who did the surgery* said to call her if my daughter gets a fever within 2 weeks of the surgery..but the ENT is in Colorado for the week. She is also complaing about her tummy, saying her tummy hurts her. The drs keep telling me that its nothing and that she doesnt need to be seen. What do you think?
*Btw I am taking her in right now...but I would just like to see what other people have to say*
Answers:
You did the right thing by taking her in. A fever of 104 in a 3 year old, is definitely a sign of something not being well and should be addressed by a doctor - and I am not sure why they would let it go on for days without concern, especially in light of a recent surgery where infection is always a possibility.
sometimes, drinking ginger "tea" will help.
it soothes the throat, and the tummy too.
try boiling ginger in water with a little sugar to make it sweet, a little sweet.
hmmm..as for the fever, try keeping her perspiring, and wipe out the dampness as much as u can. keep her clean too!

hang on there!!
take her to the hospital right now
give her Tylenol, take a Luke warm bath to help cool her off, drink plenty of fluids ,water!!and let her take a nap , sleep helps your body get strong .( but first you should go to the er to get her check out because of your previous situation)!
