I cant look someone straight in the eye?

Question:
i cant look someone straight in the eye i dont know why but i keep lookin to the floor and its awkward?? how can i overcome this?

Answers:
Don't feel bad, in my culture looking someone in the eye is disrespectful and so I grew up not being able to do this and even now at 51 I still have a problem with staring or looking someone in the eye when I talk to them, if they r going to consider this a sign of weakness then they don't know much about life and cultures and r weak in their own ignorance. Don't feel awkward just try to over come it as best as possible. If u slip, u slip.
just keep trying it, itll get less akward. also you should try to increase your confidince in general. The looking to the floor thing is a natural submissive instinct. if you feel more confident, then you won't have that instinct to look away.
Looking into someone's eye can be daunting for some. A technique you can try is to focus not on the eye itself but the bridge of the person's nose. It appears to the other person that you are looking into their eyes but you won't have to.

Hope this helps.
Try to look around the eyes, like the nose or eyebrows, this way it will appear that you are looking them in the eye, but you can really be focusing on something else, I hope this helps, good luck!
