Try saying "do you want that supersized" in more than one language. Try naming the type of cars that come in before they get to the checkout window. Try imagining that the cash register has real numbers on it and not pictures and see if you can figure out change without reading it from the screen. Little things like that will help you get through the day. Otherwise get a job that challenges you.
Try having your Dr. check your adrenal levels. I felt the same way and went to a thyroid dr. thinking it was something to do with that... as it turns out it is an adrenal gland(s) issue.
This happen to me too. Aside from getting enough sleep and correct diet, I've found that I need to take short breaks more often. Take 2 minutes to go to the snack machine or take 5 minutes to go to the restroom and splash cool water on my face. Although most people take a 1 hour lunch break I personally find the 30 minute lunch and two15 minute breaks works better for me. I also like to take breaks (whether it's luch or 15 minutes) about every 2 hours.
As far as concentrating I try to finsh a task (if possible) before I go take a break. That way when I return I'm not starting back in the same thing. But I only finish the task first if I can get it done within about 30 mintutes of the 2-hour mark mentioned earlier.
Finally, I know a lot of people (including myself) dont' take breaks because they are too far behind or have to much to do. The law says your entitled to them so use them. Also, people are far more effective after using breaks. The amount of work that gets completed is greater than working through breaks.
