Why do people yawn? Is it true to be lack of oxygen or am I just tired?

Question:

Answers:
Yawning serves as a way to gather more oxygen into the system.
Yawning may be a way of communicating and co-ordinating social behaviour between animals.

Modern medicine is not certain. May be a combination of the 2 above
If you yawn constantly then it may be sleepapnea. It can be life threatening and you should see a doctor about it immediatly!

EDIT: And 'yes' the yawning for one with sleepapnea is due to the brain not getting enough oxygen during sleep. Sometimes the heart even stops and starts beating again every few moments. See a doctor and be refered to a sleep clinic!
