Which do you prefer, laparoscopic or open procedures on an appendectomy?

Its all about recovery time, all Lappy is not the most up to date procedure. However when in doubt, even a machete works, but requires a lot More stitches
Laparoscopic: far less scarring and a much faster recovery time.
Lappy, the recovery time is a big issue, as well as cosmetic differences. My sister had a Lappy and she has almost no scars whatsoever. She had 3 SMALL marks after the surgery with only a couple stitches in each incision. I dont know of any benifit to open procedures accept that the doctors dont have to look thorugh a camera to see what they are cutting.
