2-year old is vomitting and diarrhea: How to make her feel better?

Question:
My two-year old sister has been vomitting and having diarrhea for about a day. She had a fever last night but her temperture returned to normal this morning. She will sometimes complain that she has a stomachache as well. What can my parents or I do to help get her better besides going to the doctor for now? (If she is not better by tomorrow, we are taking her to have a check-up on Monday) What should we give her to eat and drink? I know that she should not drink milk since it causes her to feel sick.

Answers:
Give her popsicles for hydration. She needs to drink as much clear liquid as possible, sprite, that sort of thing.

Look at some over the counter immodium for children, but if this continues longer than 48 hours and the vomiting and diarrhea is severe, she needs to be taken to the hospital asap. In a child that small things can get critical fast.
bring her to her pediatrician this could be dangerous ASAP!
Give her lots of fluids to prevent her from getting dehydrated.
Take her to the emergency room. Also, make sure to keep her hydrated with Pedialyte.
i would take her to the doc
Go to a doctor
give her "smecta" it`s a powder, stopping diarrhea. vomiting it`s perhaps the cause of bad feeding. check what her meals are made of. but it`s a good idea to take her to the medic.
i think she MIGHT have stomach flu. does she go to a daycare? maybe she caught a virius there. and i think you should take her to the doctor TONIGHT if she does not get better hope she gets better soon!
Give her pedialite. In the baby or pharmacy section, its clear, fruit flavored water, kind of like gatoraid, filled with electrolytes and other nutrients she needs and is losing from all the vomitting and diarrhea. DONT give her gatoraid, because is also has sugar. If she has a low grade fever, try cooling her off with a cool wet cloth all over (don't use alcohol on the rag, this will make her too cold and will dry out her skin). Also, consider children's advil (liquid), great for fevers, use only as directed
Vomiting and diarrhoea in children is not something to be taken lightly, this causes severe dehydration and should be addressed immediately, go to the chemist and get some electrolyte juice to hydrate her as children have died from constant vomiting and diarrhoea
go get her some pedialyte or some ginger ale. that should help with the stomach ache and the vomiting.don't give her any dairy foods, if milk makes her feel sick she may be lactose intolerant
When I was sick, I recall my father giving me a bit of cola with my food (typically dry cereal or bread to influence the stomach), he said it helped prevent sicking up. After the meal, I would be put down for a nap, and then given lots of water afterwards.

Not sure if this will help, but good luck with your sister.

Yes, definately skip the milk! I found that one out from experience! I would think the most important thing would be to keep her hydrated. With problems on both ends, she'll get dehydrated really quick and that can end up causing other issues. Give small amounts of liquid so hopefully she can keep it down. Maybe a tablespoon every 15-30 minutes or so, it's important it's not too much as it will just come back up. I understand Pedyalite (sp?) is supposed to be great, but I've heard the taste is terrible so many kids don't like it. Hope things improve for you!
could be rotavirus. very serious in young children. if you wait to take her to the dr. no sugary drinks, makes diarrhea worse. pedialyte and a lot of it. baby needs to stay hydrated
if i where you i would give her some kind of juice ,apple ,grape, gingerale or she will get dehydrated.also make sure you bring her to the doctor's.some flu symptom's go away after time some dont also i would give her something light to eat like toast i hope she feel's better soon
takin her to the doctors is very important.try 2 give her some saltine crackers, try some pedi-lite,try gingerale or peppermint candy.i know that peppermint candy will works ,it works 4 me every time.good luck with your lil sister.
