Ok, I don't know why I do this, but...?


Question:
When I'm away to say something nasty, when I say something I shouldn't, when I think something mean, or when I laugh at something nasty etc, I always feel the need to slap myself. I can't help myself. If it doesnt hurt, I have to slap myself until it does. Otherwise I find it hard to listen to anything anyone's saying, or to concentrate on anything. Who do I do this?!

Also, plz don't be mean about it. I know how evil people can be on Yahoo!.

you should consult a psychologist about some easy therapy to stop the habit
atleast you care abot what you do or say to people some people dont care at all...
Each time you do these things; say something to yourself about it. Like, I didn't want to do that. What's wrong with me? Lord, help me to stop this or that. After a while, you will stop. But, you have to really mean what you're trying to quit.

Don't hold your feelings in, because when you do let your feelings out you will say more than you wanted to. Just be true to yourself and if its funny laugh, if it's nasty laugh, that is what everyone else does. Don't keep thinking about it move on!
Sounds like you have tourettes syndrome.Please see a shrink real fast.
Get some help from a shrink. That sounds like OCD.

You're obsessed with the thought of doing the action
You feel compulsion to perform the action
You feel anxiety until you do the action and
You feel guilt after doing the action

This is the criteria for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. SSRI's and CBT treat this quite well.
