Hi there my friend
I have been on steroids for nearly 30yrs in many different doses..
The side effects are really quite bad, mood swings are the worst, along with weight gain, dilated pupils and huge appetite..
When your GP brings the dose down these symptoms soon disappear.. I hope you get well soon and if you need to chat don't hesitate OK.
take care X
yes steroids cause mood swings , my daughter takes them often for crohns and when on a high dose is very depressed almost suicidal sometimes, and flies into a temper for no reason, as soon as shes off them she back to her normal self. worth talking to doc to see what they suggest.
This is a perfectly normal reaction to steroids. The problem with steroidal medications is that they can play games with your brain and mind. They can cause anything from feeling just down to a deep depression and even becoming severely psychotic. If you are having these symptoms then you need to consult the physician who is prescribing them as he/she may need to make some adjustments.
I've been on steroids since I was 11 for a thyroid condition. Yes. You can feel down. With my meds, most steroids Cause depression. The best advice I can give is be with someone. Even if you don't want to talk just Watch a funny movie. Its hard I know.
Take Care.
It is normal to feel fatigue after using steroids. I have talked with Mr. California Golden Bear (A body building competition) and he told me that the guys who were taking steroids took cocaine to compensate for the drain on the body. I did not just say to run out and find cocaine somewhere, but I am saying that steroids can be draining. Talk with your doctor, please.
Well, you shouldn't have had steroids in the first place.
