If you are trying a "cure", on average, how long do you give it before you give up?

Question:
Thinking shampoos, depression meds, facial problem solvers, painkillers - anything you expect to have a noticeable effect within a given timeframe.
When do you either stop taking them - or go back to the doctor/hairdresser/dentist/pha... etc. to say it just isn't working?

Answers:
It would depend on the cure.probably I would give it about a month, unless I was told that it might take longer.
If there are glaring side effects, it would be wise to stop immediately. If using an acne medicine causes you hair loss, think about what is important to you - clear skin? or a head full of hair?

If you don't mind the side effects and are willing to look past them, continue using them, but I don't think it would be safe... And know that there are new, developed and improved medicines everywhere. if one doesn't work, go for another one that suits you and doesn't cause you to sprout tentacles or somethin... Hee hee..

Generally - try avoiding medicines. The cliche still stands true... "prevention is better than cure". Try following that....

Time frame... It would be specific to the medicine in question... Shampoos and stuff... maybe a month.. Painkillers and other oral medicines.. (Give up ASAP if they are not effective). No point in inducing yourself with a whole bunch of chemicals that are just eatin you up, right?

Anyway - hope this helped!
It depends on the treatment and the disease. For example anti-depressants can take 6 weeks to work. Painkillers will only mask the symptoms and not cure the cause. Anti dandruff shampoos can take 4 weeks and I have no idea what facial problem solvers are.
