I'm not so sure that you are not allowed to watch it. People are not allowed to sell it to you, or take money for allowing you to watch it. There are laws regarding public sale and exhibition of showing of the sex act. I do not believe there is a law that says you are not allowed to watch it. What would they do if they caught you watching it at home, send the sex police around to your house arrest you put you jail? Don't think so.
It's like alcohol the laws apply to the sale and supply of, as it does with tobacco. At least that is how I understand it

OK the reason the law in the UK is 18, is because of lesbian sex gay sex and when you watch porn it may show you bondage and role play.

who said you're allowed to have sex at 16? In 19 states that's under age of sexual consent and the older of the two people is at risk for being charged with statutory RAPE.
Great question. Aren't there states in the USA where you're not allowed to drink alcohol until you are 21? That seems strange when you can die for your country at 18. Another anomaly. Of course, having sex within a healthy relationship does not harm anyone and is free and enjoyable. I don't think the same can be said of watching porn.

There is plenty of sex in films of lesser category than X, however I take your point. Particularly since now many films are also bought and downloaded. However if we had no rules, where would we be? FRANCE! If we had too many rules, where would we be? GERMANY? ( with apologies to Al Murray.)
B'cause at 16 we r fertile & capable for healthy sex. But untill 18 we r not fully mature for life. so if we watch sex before that age our mind' ll start to exaggregate about sex & we might b maniac for sex. it might make us to do sex crime. this is the reason i think. law are wise and well planned decision and made for our benefite.
