Reduce risk of stroke?


Question:
My maternal (if that means anything)grandmother had a stroke at a very young age about 21..Now I am at the age of 21 and someone told me that strokes skip a generation...how can i reduce the risk of a stroke...this is something that I have allways thought about and now that I am around the same age I am really concerned...and is it true that you have more of a risk if someone in your family has had one?? can a diet effect it...certain exersize...anything would help thanks!

Well, it seems like a stroke is something that happens at the exact same time it did to your grannie. You need to realize that your whole family and you are at a risk of stroke. I can't REALLY point out the best way to stop one. Getting a massage and plenty relaxation would help. Also it would be helpful for you or your friend to know when a person is having a stroke.
1. They can't say a simple sentence(stumbling, stuttering)
2. They can't raise their arms above their head
3. Being too quiet when usually they'd talk.
Eat healthily, no smoking, boozing or drugging, as little caffeine as possible, lessen the amount of salt and additives in food. Talk to your doctor for more info.
