Sleeping all day - still groggy and want to sleep, why?

Question:
I took atarax (hydroxyzine Hydrochloride) last night around 12 and I have been sleeping all day and still am groggy and want to sleep. Why? Shouldn't it be out of my system?

Answers:
A little bit will still be in your system, but you have to get up and move around to get it out of your system.
If you sleep too much you will be groggy and feel like you want to sleep more.
sounds like too much sleep.
Suggest you see the MD that prescribed the med. You could need a dosage change or then again some meds take 4 to 6 wks. for the side affects to stop.(contraindications). Try reading the print out that the pharmacy gives you when you get scrip.Or if nothing ask for a consult with the pharmacist !! Still I would see my PCP(Dr.) and discuss the situation ASAP !! If you are taking other meds in combo there may be an interaction and that is definately NOT GOOD !! Hope this helped. Good Luck !!
