I know this is gross and a little morbid but I need something settled?

Question:
Is this a myth or fact? When a person dies is it reasonable to assume that the innards relax and that if its in you its going to come out? ok blunt and to the point: at the time of death or soon afterwards will a person have a bowel movement? and if this is true what can I use to back this up? I remember seeing a documentary about suicides that touched on this subject and claimed that it does indeed happen but I cant quote the source.
thanks to all who were brave enough to answer this nasty but serious question.

you can quote me !!! if you need verification!
Usually.
It is true, it does happen.
I personally wouldnt think that this is possible, becuase your body has shut down when you are dead, so how can bowels come out if there is nothing to push it out?

Oy, my answer sounded grosser than your question!

But i mean, i'm not a doctor or anything, idk. it might happen;; becuase anything is possible..
Not sure where you could find the info but what I know is that the muscles all go flacid upon death and of course the bodily fluids would drain out. Maybe a website on necrosopy or
embalming, etc.
yes your muscles relax as in the spincter myscles around the anus and yes you evacuate your bowels
i have heard that it is indeed true but i dont know the reason behind it
yes - of course
ask any doctor or nurse
it is touched upon in many novels
