Gag reflex - 9 year prehistoric child?

9 year old child next to a very large fever is incompetent to keep anything down... including medication.... sprite, you signature it.... bad shield of strept throat - constant nausia

would you think it's a bit much to relate them to "control their gag reflex" in command to keep their food, liquid and/or meds down?

I think it's crazy to expect a sick child to "control" their "gag reflex"
