Should I stop taking Clindamycin? I feel like I have the flu.?

Question:
I was perscribed the anti biotic Clindamycin four days ago for cellulitis on my leg. Last night I stated to feel achy (back and neck pain), headache and upset stomach. This morning I woke up feeling the same way and have had diareha all day long. Should I stop taking the medication?

Answers:
Yea! You should stop taking it. I also took Clindamycin and I didn't have any bad side effects but I remember reading somewhere that it can cause the symptoms you are having- I would tell you where I read it from but I'm sorry I can't seem to remember because I got off Clindamycin a long time ago. I would get off it and call your doctor. I hope you feel better =)
Yes.

You should not be putting any type of medication of that sort into your body while you have the flu, or any type of medication.
Yes and call your doctor right away. Clindamycin is a very broad spectrum antibiotic. DON'T take it again until you call the doctor and DON'T use immodium or pepto to stop the diarreah.

I don't want to alarm you, but it can cause an overgrowth of a dangerous bacteria in your colon called C. Difficile and it produces a toxin. that might be why you feel fluish. If the toxin is acting upon your body.

Please call your doctor tonight.
