Medical Question, This may sound crazy?

Craving ice is a sign of anemia-- more specifically an iron deficiency. Many green veggies are high in iron. As for the dirt, it sounds weird, but dirt may be a source of iron as well. Have her see a doctor for a blood test.
Check this out--it explains the need to chew clay--similar to dirt:

Well, it sounds like your friend is pregnant if she's craving dirt, or she may have an iron deficiency. She needs to look into some daily vitamin supplements.
A simple blood test will tell her at the Dr,s office.
usually iron for the green vegies and dirt.
before iron supplements it used to be pregnant women craved dirt and it seemed a weird thing until they finally found out it's the iron in it.
She should see a doctor. I think there is a term for that.Pica? It's probably a lack of iron or something...
Well since ice has no nutrition in it I can't tell you about that one, but she could be lacking iron, vitamin B, or vitamin C.And as for dirt, your friend has got some weird taste buds.
Or there is the very real possibilty that she may be pregnant. Afterall, pregnant women do crave weird things.
I believe these cravings would involve a deficiency in the mineral "Iron".
I think your friend is pregnant or is having stomach/intestinal problems (craving dirt).
Check if she is pregnant; if not, then go to a gastroenterologist and get it checked out...
There is a condition called "pica", where people eat non-food items, like dirt.
I don't know what she may be lacking. Has she been on any fad diets? Weird diets?
Has she been eating a normal, well-balanced diet & still has the pica?
If the former, have her start a NORMAL, well-balanced diet (forget calories, for now) and see if it improves. If the latter, have her see a doctor. She may have a condition impairing her digestion & intake of nutrients from her food.
Good luck!
ohh... i just read some crap about it. i think it's called pica- hah, i knew it! or something- anyways pregnant women crave dirt and ashes if they are missing iron i think or mabye it was zinc and magnesium. anyways this girl need to get some water- she's dehydrated probably- (we all are to some extent.) dark leafy veggies to eat, (like collard green, spinach,) and get a good multi vitamin- start with a one-a-day brand or something. anything is better than nothing. stay away from empty carbohydrates and sugars and stuff. go eat healthy foods. lean proteins. that will fix it, definitly~!~
that's interesting! dirt! ha! well i take an incredibe supplement called "Tunguska Blast" or "T-blast" it was derived from tunguska russia. there was some sort of meteroic event in 1908 that wiped out the area and made all of the vegetation in that area grow at a rate that's 4x faster than vegetation in other areas. it's compromised of extracts of key plants and fruits, that work together to reduce stress and stress related issues.
that could be as simple as your friends issue or as serious as reducing high blood pressure or insulin intake for diabetics. a close friend of mine had scarcodosis which made him legally blind in his right eye and he had to walk with a cane. within 3 weeks of taking T-BLAST he was able to see again, and start back jogging. his doctor, as well as many others now give T-BLAST to their patients as opposed to medicine which as you know, can cause side effects and other issues.
