Has anyone ever had their frenulum cut (lingual frenectomy)?

Question:

it is the web under your tongue, I have to have mine cut due to tongue-tie. has anyone had theirs cut before and if they have what was it like after the surgery, did u feel any pain after? Im kinda nervous to have mine cut but I need too.

I just got mine done. I'm 23. And i wasn't exactly "tongue tied" per say. But lets just say i couldn't stick my tonge out more than 1 CM.

I got local anesthesia, and they lasered mine.
Pain During surgery, was very little, when they zapped into the part deeper in the mouth it kinda hurts more, but not unbearable.
Pain after...well, the first 30 mins Hurts., and its weird talking because now you use parts of your tonge never used before.But after a while i guess you get used to it.

It's just weird having pain in a part of your body that never gotten hurt before you know?

I would reccomend finding an Oral surgeon,or a dentist who has a Laser because Lasers means NO BlooD, and its sealed off, and best part of all no Stitches.
My guess it Probably Hurts 2 Fold with a scalpal and stitches.

no i haven't, it sounds like it hurts thouch, ouch.

I know we've had to do this for babies that have problems swallowing. I can't imagine that it is all that painful. Mind over matter.

Never had the one under the tongue cut but I did have the upper web cut (where your top lip connects to your gums). It was a long time ago but being that I can't remember much I don't think the pain was bad at all. They numbed me up with novacaine, snipped it and moved it up a little and it healed fine. Very minor procedure so don't worry!
