I havea constipation problem.?

Well ive been eating the same thing everyday for the last few months.

Breakfast-Granola bars

Lunch-Turkey sandwhich

dinner-turkey sandwhich.


All the stuff im eating is high in fiber but i just cant go so i took some milk of magnesia. Will this clear me out? And how long till it kicks in?

in dinner why dont you try out rice and a better solution would be drinking plenty of water make a target in a day to drink atleast 3 liters of water
I hope there's lettuce and tomato on those turkey sandwiches, because otherwise you aren't getting enough fiber. Try a salad with those sandwiches and how about some fruit like berries on the side?

Milk of magnesia can definitely help. Taking a magnesium supplement will also help a lot. Be sure to drink a lot of water. You didn't mention fluid intake but fiber only does so much good if not in the presence of fluid. Fluids help the fiber swell in your intestines, which in turn pushes things along...and out.
Yes, the M.O.M. will clear you out. It could take up to 8 hrs. It's a good idea to take it before you go to sleep that way you'll be near a bathroom when you need one. When it kicks in, it's pretty intense.

Now the more important question here, the reasons for your constipation. It could be your diet. The only fiber I see is from the granola bar (unless the bread you are using is wheat). No fruits or vegetables? These are essential for your health and for elimination, especially ones with a high water content- watermelon, peaches, etc. Citrus fruits also contain Vitamin C which also helps get your bowels back on track. I used to find grapefruit and a cup of coffee to do the trick.

How much water are you drinking. All the fiber in the world will only constipate you without water. The more the better.

I would be concerned about your over-all caloric intake as well. Are you dieting? I used to think I was constipated because I wasn't going everyday, but I realized I wasn't taking in enough to go everyday. That could possibly be your problem as well.

raspberry and blackberry jam, with seeds in, are one of the best cures; but if its a constant problem see a doctor.
If you're eating the same thing every day that could be your problem too. Your body needs change.

Why are you eating a turkey sandwich for lunch and dinner? What about other proteins, vegetables, fruits. I'm sure if you add some more food groups you'll be going regularly in no time. Good luck!
