What's Kind Of A Doctor Is A PFNP?

Question:
Is That A Physican Assistant Or What?

Answers:
It's a nurse practitioner -- not a doctor -- FNP is family nurse practitioner, PNP is pediatric nurse practitioner -- I'm guessing he/she is licensed as both -- or that the first P means professional.
Some kind of family nurse practitioner. Not sure what the p stands for... possible pediatric??
Actually, I can't say I've heard of a 'PFNP'. I've heard of C-NP, C-FNP, FNP, NP - assuming because of last two letters it could a nurse practitioner? Either way, physician assistants and nurses are NOT doctors.
