Interesting question.
It would stand to reason that if you are sleeping you are laying down thus, not puttin any weight on your spinal column in a downward motion. So I guess it could be true but you have to stand up sometime and gravity will prevail. The fluid in your discs in the spine start to leak out SLOWLY starting at about the age of 18. This is why old people get shorter over time.

I can only think of one career that you can do laying on your back and we won't go there.
:)
Cheerz and stand tall
it is somewhat true.. growth hormone gets released when a person is sleeping ... but keep in mind that you have a certain growth potential.. once you've reached your growth potential .. you won't be able to grow anymore... no matter how much you sleep... also.. you need to have all your nutrient intake on a daily basis for full growth potential..
