Healthier lifestyle?


Question:
I'm 135/140 lbs and 5'2". I have quite big thighs and a big pudge for a lower abdomen. I used to be anorexic when I was about 13 or 14. I've been struggling with weight all my life, especially since I was premature and barely weighed anything. Anyway, everyday my knees and back especially hurt. Bad acne. Oh and horrible periods once a month. I would like to start eating healthier (I'm a huge fast food eater), I would like to find some healthy activites, be in less pain for my periods, possibly get rid of my acne, and I would like to just be healthy in general. I want to start taking vitamins, but not sure what to take, especially since I can't have citric acid and have very oily skin. I would really like to change my lifestyle around...for the better. Thanks.

Well your BMI is about 25/26 and you have big thighs so I wouldnt be as concerned about dieting to lose weight but more concerned about eating much healthier. As well as the obvious fruits and vegetables try to make sure to eat beans, fish, milk and berries, because they are often forgotten sources of important vitamins you might be lacking in.
And don't procrastinate in asking about vitamin suppliments either, thats a good idea.
Stay away from fast food. Take a multivitamin. Walk every day. Eat fresh foods, eat lots of fruits and veggies. Nothing fried. Drink lots of water. If you can, join a weight watchers or something like that. They teach you how to eat for a lifetime. You can even ask your doctor to put you on a sensible diet.
