How bad is it to be in a room that just got painted?

Question:
I recently just posted this in the home decorating section but no one responded and usually you get a response quick. I just painted my room and Ive been in my room for about 2-3 hours eversince I painted, is that okay? Cause arent there chemicals in paint and what not that you shouldnt really inhale? Thanks.

Answers:
It depends on the paint. There are paints that claim that they are safe to be around them even if they are still wet. But if you are using the ones that give off harmful odors, you would know it. you would develop irritations on your throat and lungs that might force you to cough or have an itchy throat. So just to be safe, get away from it now!
If you have any allergy problem, like dust allergy etc, then go out of the room immediately. Because with the pain smell, bronchial tubes will be swollen, you will get asthma like problem. It may suffer you for a day or two.
II was in your situation before and I got rashes all over my body.Doc said I was sensitive to paint .So beware.
NO paint is safe in an unventilated room !!
if you have propper ventilatin , then it may not harm you , but most paints have some form of a petrolium distillate in them and that is very harmful to you !

ventilate the for hours then you can go in safely.
