Mole removal wasn't painless for me. Anyone experienced burning or "on fire" sensation w/ Lidocaine injection
Question:
Does anyone know? Was this a bad reaction to the Lidocaine?
Answers:
Lidocaine causes a severe burning sensation when first injected. That burning is the drug working on your nerve endings to cause numbness. That is definitely not an allergic reaction. Once the initial burning resolves, you should not feel pain for a few minutes to a couple of hours.
Was the mole removal painful or just the injection? Some patients have a higher tolerance to the drug, so despite the burning, your nerves are still active. The doctor may not have waited long enough for the drug to work. Either way, if you have another mole removal, you should let your doctor know, so he can wait longer or try another drug.
If you had a burning sensation after the lidocane it was probably an allergic reaction to the lidocane. I one watched a man have a growth removed from a very sensitive area with only 10cc of lidocane and he didn't feel a thing. I would definatly tell your doc you had a reaction to the lidocane and don't use let them use it again because reactions can become more intense with multiple exposures... if you start seeing a rash or feeling like your face is swelling or start having difficulty breathing go to the doc... it might be a severe allergic reaction.
Good luck!
idk what they gave me but it wasnt painless it still hurt a lil. and then they burned off some skin so yeah it felt burning
