What is the best solution for car sickness?

I get really car sick, and I'm 16!! I will be car sick forever I think. But I know what helps is if I sleep, suck boiled sweets or if I sit at the very front in the passenger's seat or if it's one of those cars with 7 seats if I sit in the middle.
First, check for an exhaust leak. When I am in a car and start to feel sick from breathing exhaust fumes, I request the driver to stop so I can get out and walk, hitchhike or whatever. Fresh air is infinitely preferable to carbon monoxide.
Sickness may have other links: is it always in the same car: I forget the exact stats but the medical investigation of British severe car sickness was mild carbon monoxide poisoning was the actual cause in a very large proportion of cases (reported on news in the 1990s)?
True motion sickness can be cured in mild cases by allowing the body to slip to match the movement of the vehicle, so I found newspapers handy to sit on to improve this. Don't be hungry or overfull or otherwise anxious (an empty bladder on setting out is a must or it creates a anxiety feedback)
sit in the front seat. keep his eyes on the horizon.
I have heard that putting a bandaid over the navel is a good way to prevent car sickness. For me, I make sure to sit in the front seat (thus avoiding seeing the roadside flying by) and don't read in the car.
My wife has similar problem but it's only happens when she goes on long trip and roads are curvy and with lots of turns. She takes those otc medicines and many times she will not even eat or drink anything prior to travel. You could also try it too as there is no harm.
Don't look out the side windows and don't read anything. When I read in the car I usually start to feel sick.
