How to deal with a stye?

Question:
I got one a few days ago and it's looking more prominent now. It's somewhat pimple-sized, red, and it's located directly on my eyelashes, below the eyelid. It's not really painful but slightly irritating. This afternoon I gave in to temptation and pierced a tiny hole in it with a needle. A little blood and pus came out but that's it, it didn't pop like I expected, and it's still as red as ever. I've been trying warm compresses since then, is there anything else I can do to make it disappear?

Answers:
Keep warm compresses on it, don't try to pop it yourself, let the compress release it- otherwise you could get a infection or make it inflamed (creating larger stye)
I had it a few times and I consulted a doctor for medication, it goes off pretty fast.

Removing it yourself with a needle is quite risky as you might get an infection, so you have to be very careful.
