Scientifically why is is that when we're sad- we cry?

Tears actually contain stress hormones, so by crying, you get rid of them.
It's a signal that we need our parents to intervene.
I don't know, it is just a natural reaction I think. Even worse for me, I cry when I am angry and in a fight or argument with someone. I don't know why, but it is so f**king annoying!
