Best way to cope with loss?

Question:
Whats the best way to cope with the loss of a family member?

Answers:
It was a tragic, heartbreaking accident and it's normal to feel devastated about it and mourn. You're going to feel that loss and heartbreak for awhile... but eventually you will feel better because life just goes on, and time somehow makes us more numb to the pain and heartbreak we have endured and gives us strength again. You will never forget your dear friend, of course... he will always be in your heart.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Of course it hurts when you've been together since he was born and shared 3 years together. In time you may be ready to adopt another dog who needs to be loved... but I would say give yourself time to mourn first. You will know when you are ready to open your heart and share your life with another pet again.
Find a friend or family member you can talk to about your feelings. You don't need their advice, you just need them to listen. You may also be able to find a support group. I found a great way for me to cope with the loss of a pet is to volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter such as that of the Humane Society. You may find another pet to take home, not to replace the one you lost, but to help ease the pain. Plus, you would be rescuing a homeless animal.
My condolences to you...
Just cry over it, time will heal your loss. Since it is a puppy, get one to replace it and you will overcome it faster.
Alter your routine for a while...change is good I am told...
Include your pup in nightly prayers...and before long there may be a very needed dog back in your life to care for and love. Oh, visit the dog shelters around your area often.

I did not expect or want to get another dog before we tragically lost our dog of seventeen years. (We were going to put him down and other things happened). Before he died (I would say less than a year) this small mixed breed dog broke away from the pack she was traveling with and tried to make company with my son and I. She would come and go out the back alley. Well, the neighbor took her in because she was cute and promptly put her back out! My husband watched her get shooed away like by kicking (they are mean) and got her to come to him. She became ours...If she gets scared, she piddles but I really dont blame her! God works in mysterious ways!
There is no easy way. You will go through a mourning process and cry alot. You will feel sad for awhile and, of course, you will always remember. Try to focus on the pup's positive effect in your life. It is going to take time and that is easier said than done. It's a sad time in your life right now. Talk to friends and family members.
I don't think you ever get over the loss of a pet you loved anymore than you would a human loved one. I have had to put two beloved dogs of mine to sleep and one was 20 years ago and the other was 10 years ago. My pain from their loss is considerably less and tolerable but they are as much in my mind as though it were yesterday. As time goes by, you will see yourself healing from the loss. Every day does get better. I am so sorry for what happened to you r baby dog.
Find and engross yourself on a hobby to take your mind off the depression. Or if you're the brave type who don't run away from problems, talk to friends or family about your dog, reminisce the happy time she were with you, make a scrapbook if you've collected pictures over the years. If you're well enough to try on a new pet, choose another. It's not really replacing your former pet but finding another so you could give the affection to another creature.
poor you. Talk to someone about your feelings. Make a memorial of your puppy
