Answers:
i was severely swollen after my surgery. is the pain coming and going around the time you eat/drink. or when it is time for another dose of meds. the pain on one side might be they had to "dig" alittle more to get all of that one on that side. i could tell you MY horrible horror story but i wont. try and take some motrin, it will help with the swelling (make sure it will not interact with your other meds, if you have pain meds). stay away from milk or dairy, it can produce phlegm and make you cough/clear your throat. try ice chips, slushes, popsicles, gatorade, jello, applesauce. if in a few more days (10 days post-op) you are still in pain call your dr.
Its all normal. I couldnt eat solid foods for over a week. I remember I lost about 15 pounds. Just treat yourself right, get lots of rest, drink lots of water and take your meds. If there is anything unusual, call your Dr. or check the symptoms on www.webmd.com
The tounge is prb swollen from the doctor trying to get past it to take them out.I dont know the answer to Q2
You might feel this pain on one side because it was maybe harder to get out.All of this is prb getting them out in such a small space. However you might ask your doctor and they can answer this better.Good luck and I hope it heals all up soon.
1. It was held down so you didn't swallow.
2. Pain throbs as blood flows into an area and then numbs itself so you don't feel it then it comes back as swelling goes down, and swells again.
3. that side probably had a more severe tonsil than the other.
Mine came out in pieces. Ice cream and jello, the colder the better help a lot, ice chips if you don't want the other two choices.
