Isn't it counterproductive to use oil in your ear to soften ear wax before removal?

No, thats why EAR NOSE AND THROAT DOCTORS recommend it. Why would they tell you to if it just made it worse. Why are you obsessed with ears?
I use 50% warm water and 50% Hydrogen Peroxide [3%]mixed in a glass.
