You must make your room a haven where you can put all thoughts aside and sleep. Have you tried listening to some relaxing music in the dark. By the way make sure the room is dark and there is no irritating light filtering through. As I was saying get your self some soft music and plug your ears and listen to it - it'll keep all the other noises out. Avoid eating late meals or snacks just before going to bed. You can also try reading for half an hour or so. Make sure your bed and especially your pillow are comfortable and that the temperature is just right. You say you've been having nightmares - that means that you have something on your mind - maybe the move has unsettled you more than you think. Remove anything from your room that you think is irritating you. Try the old fashioned method - take a hot bath before you go to bed so you can relax.
Finally if you do have some problem which is the root of your sleepless nights - get to the bottom of it - face it.
Try reading a good book. That usually will make you really tired and you will be able to fall asleep faster.
your thinking too much, relax your brain and try to think about nothing. for all the sounds, try turning on a fan, going on the computer and watching tv rite before bed can make it hard to fall asleep, drink a glass of milk before bed, (makes you sleepy)
listen to some music. not rap or something with a lot of bass. Listen to some classical [i know, sounds stupid but it actually works] also, maybe try moving to a different part of the house when you cant fall asleep or after you have a nightmare like the couch or something. It might still be the thought of your new house. Take the pictures that you have of your old house and put them around your bedroom and in other parts of the house in places you look often, like the wall at the end of the hall, or on a placemat on the table. I'm 14 and I've had this problem before. Sometimes being somewhere different after you've had a nightmare helps you sleep better. Also, try doing something that relaxes you right before you go to bed. if you have a pet like a cat, have it on your bed with you or if you have a dog [usually dogs won't get up and go somewhere in the middle of the night like a cat will] have it sleep on the bed or on the floor next to the bed. Try a little of everything and you'll find out what you need to do. good luck!
