Help, Im getting my seventh grade shots tomorrow!?

Dude, take a deep breath and let it out slowly. The shots won't hurt that bad. It's the idea. Sure, they may sting a little, but no major pain. I just got my chicken pox shot two week ago, HepB and DTaP boosters a month ago and I'm going in to getting my second chicken pox in another two weeks. I didn't even flintch. Now, it your thinking I must be one of those really brave kids who fear nothing, your wrong. I'm the girl who panics if she has a nosebleed or scrapes her knee. Shots use to scare me alot, but now they don't. Just close your eyes and don't make your arm tense. Otherwise, the needle won't go in and they'll have to poke you again. Once your shots are over, though, stay seated for a few minutes. Even if you didn't hypervenalate, you may still feel a little dizzy afterwards. That applies for blood work, too. After my blood work, we were in a hurry and I got up too quickly. I didn't faint, but I did feel dizzy. Wow, I've told you alot about my experiances. Just remember this:
Before: Stay calm. Remind yourself it won't hurt that bad and it will be over quickly.
During: Stay relaxed. Don't watch.
After: Sit for a little while, even if it's just a minute or two. Take a deep breath and relax. It's over.
ARE U SERIOUS?? u have to get shots for 7th grade!! ughh.
I hate shots. I have to get flu shots every year. Just hold someone ones hand and talk talk to them. the shot will be over before you know it. ps make sure the nurse does not count down, i hate it.
Grow up and take it! you wouldn't complain if your mom said "hey lets go get you a nose ring!" By the way, yes it hurts, any needle stabbed into your body hurts! SUCK IT UP AND DEAL WITH IT!!!
hope this helps! TOODLES!
I am just like you. Just bring something with you that will help you calm down wheter it be a stuffed animal or a squeeze ball. Take deep breaths in and out and that will help you to calm down. Also, if you can maybe bring a parent in with you and hold on to there hand. It will probably make you feel better if you don't look while they are giving you the shot. I mean I used to worry about getting shots so much and I wouldn't want to go but when I look back on it it was only a second of pain (that I have forgotten about now) and it has prevented me from catching so many illnesses.
The first time i got my shots was in grade 6. I was really scared. But then, the people who give you the shots, ask you questions like, how was your summer? , did you go anywhere special? , you know, things like that. I didn't even realize the shots where already over. But if you're really scared, then just close your eyes real tight and think of something you like the best. Shots don't hurt that much. It's just a little pinch. Try it.. try pinching yourself on your arm.. then you'll see how much it hurts.. not that much.. Good Luck :)
This is what I do when I get shots:
when the person is ready to put the needle in..look away. it works.. i didn't even know it was in. you'll be fine. shots don't hurt.
good luck with your shots
They only take a few seconds. While they hurt for a moment, you'll be fine. Breathe deeply and look away. Think about the beach or some place that you find relaxing.
Shots do not hurt. they are a little pinch and maybe a slight tingle or burn when the stuff goes in you. If it is a tetanus shot your muscle will hurt afterwards.
Make sure you tell the doctor/nurse that you are nervous and they will do their best to put you at ease. What ever you do don't look at the needles, take slow deep breaths and keep your arm relaxed. They do not hurt, just a quick sting and it over in about 2 seconds.
Good luck, keep smilling
