Do you feel and hear better after having your clogged, compacted ear wax flushed out by the doctor?

my ears have plugged up a few times and the last time i went to a doctor for it he told me to buy a syringe ( not w/a needle on it, you can get one at a drugstore ) and put some dawn dishwashing liquid in a glass w/some hot water ( not TOO hot!) and squirt the mixture into my ear. i did this a couple of times and a big blob of wax just came sliding out. never been back to a doctor. works like a charm. has to be dawn.gets the grease out..
every time!
actually, things are so loud it hurts for a few days.
