Medical Personnel preferably, why is my foot tingling?
Question:
It doesn't happen after I've been sitting on my foot or anything, it just comes out of the blue and lasts for a long time, maybe 15 minutes, several times a day, even if i try to exercise my foot or walk around.
Do you think I need to see a doctor? It doesn't really bother me much other than it seems weird.
Answers:
if you have pain as well it could be a mortons neuroma, this is after you ahve walked a little the neuroma gets trapped between your metatarsals and hurts initially, then goes numb, the pain is usually felt between the 3rd and fourth digits on the sole of the foot.
if you get back problems it could be your vertebrae trapping one of your nerves.
diabetes can cause numbness in the feet.
it could be the start of a fungal foot infection, its difficult to see but look if you have a redness or rash starting.
unlikely but it could be a circulation problem, you could have a slight blockage developing especially if you have pain in the calf area.
there are also various neurological conditions which could cuase tingling, such as charcot marie tooth disease, huntingdons chorea, and 100s more
monitor it, make a journal, then see a podiatrist - like myself who knows the feet inside out and can perform some scans.
i bet you its just one of those things which will go away on its own, maybe your sitting awkwardly or something
I have the same porblem but I am only in 5th grade. It probably is Restless Leg Syndrome. You have all the symptoms. This doesn't affect anything. There is a medicine for it, but I can't remember the name. It often happens when you're trying to relax or had a trying day. It's uncomfortable but doesn't hurt you or anything.
if back problems could be pressure on a spinla nerve - usually from a prolapsing disc. Or maybe you bashed the side of yr leg near the knee and damaged the peroneal nerve but it doesnt sound like peroneal n to me. Or maybe you cros yr legs a lot when you're sitting. See a doctor.
it could be a pinched nerve. but to be sure go to a doctor and have him or her run test on it
